Blast mostly off screen, plus warning on version?

Postby detroy on Tue Jul 20, 2010 1:17 pm

Blast is mostly off screen for me, when I click on it, it comes down from the menu bar about 1" and disappears quickly. I cannot get to the preferences, disable it or uninstall it. Also, the first time it did this I got a warning saying something to the effect of it not being the original version of Blast and I should contact support. I'm a registered user and remember updating it recently. I know the update changed the menu bar icon to the plunger thing.

I downloaded it again but cannot install without turning my running copy off.

I replied you over email as well.

Your original copy of Blast could be "corrupted" by applications which try to save hard disk space, such as "Clean my Mac" or "XSlimmer".
When they tamper with Blast, it can result in this message and the Blast's screen not being visible.
If you use any of these applications or a similar one, you should set them to skip Blast and other applications by Apparent Software, if you own any.

By the way, you can quit Blast even when it's not visible. When you click on the icon and it has that blue background, simply press Cmd-Q, like for any other application. You'll see the Quit dialog, click Quit button, and that's it.

After you quit Blast, replace it with the version you've downloaded from the website or download it again.

Yes, I used XSlimmer. I followed your instructions and they worked perfectly.
Thanks!
